The Verifiers

I liked reading this because every time someone asked me what I was reading, I felt smart talking about algorithms, big data, and surveillance. I kept to myself the fact that I picked this up because it was in the lesbian fiction section at Unabridged. I give it full marks. It also highlights generational cycles and the experience of many first-gen Asian Americans. Also just growing up queer and scared.

My only qualm is that it’s lesbian week of visibility and there’s barely any lesbian action. I want to know about Rina. And the long game with Becks.
